Helsgate Library
The library's outer walls are made of grey stone, weather exposure roughening its surface. The library contains only one spacious square-shaped room, the carpeting a deep blue, and though the walls are painted a dull peach color, they are barely visible. Shelves reach all the way to the thirty-foot high ceiling and cover most of the wall. Books of all types are jammed on each shelf, knowledge just waiting to be gained. In one corner is a computer, but it does not work, for all electricity to the library was shut off long ago. The only light is whatever sunlight streams in through the various windows that are scattered about the room. Near the computer is a rolling ladder that is tall enough to reach even the highest shelves. The Helsgate Library is next to the Warehouse, near Jack's Grocery.
Lythium
Lythium is the heart of Helsgate. It's the only building in the city that still has full electricity, and a few people living in the backroom isn't uncommon. During the day, it's where you lay on floor waiting for your hangover to fade and at night the party starts over again. Lythium is a large grey building located on the street next to the Helsgate Square, diagonal from the Apartments.
Warehouse
The warehouse is neighbored by the Helsgate Library, and its frontside, (or side facing the street), has been overgrown. Weeds and vines of all sorts have climbed the building's outer walls, giving it an eerie look. Only the bravest of teens dare to enter it, for who knows what you could encounter inside.
Jack's Grocery
Jack's Grocery resides diagonally across the street from the warehouse. Only canned and boxed foods remain, for the rest either rotted or was taken when the store owner abandoned it. It is a large a one room building, and people come and take what they need, for money no longer has value in Helsgate.
The Apartments
The apartments are two adjacent muddy-brown buildings. Each contain three floors, and two apartment rooms per floor. Since there are no landlords, the teens of Helsgate are free to come and go as they please, but as the population increases, they may have to fight for their shelters or sleep in the streets.
Helsgate Park
Helsgate park has not been properly maintained in years, and has now been taken over by weeds and such. There used to be a pond in the center but now it is more of a swamp or giant mud pit due to the lack of care. The park benches have practically rotted away, now almost unrecognizable, and the walkways are no longer visible. It is a rather gloomy place, for large weeping willow loom overhead and cast eerie shadows on the ground.
Helsgate Town Square
Originally a town square/main gathering place, it's now simply a gazebo blemished with random graffiti. It is a hangout of sorts for anyone.
